“I wanted to do something with animal health and agriculture, and heard Lethbridge College was one of the best agriculture schools. The instructors are passionate about what they’re teaching and I’m learning a lot. The campus is very easy to get around in and it’s not intimidating at all.”

  • successful grads may transfer into the third year of the University of Lethbridge B.Sc. or B.A. degree in Agricultural Studies. Transfer arrangements are also in place with the University of Alberta and Athabasca University.

Lethbridge College’s Agricultural Technology program is designed for those who envision a career in one of Canada’s core industries.

Our two-year diploma program will train you for a position as a technologist in a wide variety of agriculture-related areas, including the business side of the industry.

Or, you may be planning to return home to a farm or ranch to employ your newly acquired knowledge and expertise. Finally, if you’re seeking future studies at the degree level, our courses are university transferable.

In the second year of the program, you will choose to major in either Plant and Soil Science or Animal Science. We’ve added business, entrepreneurial and marketing skills to our curriculum to give you a grounding in the financial aspects of agriculture. In your final semester, you’ll apply the background gained in course work for research and preparation of a business plan for a new enterprise.

You’ll spend almost half your program studies in hands-on experiences, working with plants, soils, animals and actual business examples, including field practicum and laboratory work.

Our grads go on to further education or put their skills to work in settings that include:

  • Farming and Ranching
  • Agri-businesses and Agri-services
  • Agricultural Research
  • Farm Finance
