  • admission in September and January
  • admission open to graduates of a Renewable Resource Management diploma or equivalent or a related bachelor’s degree

Give us one more year and we’ll expand your world. Finish your degree or diploma in Renewable Resource Management or Environmental Science and complement it with our intensive one-year post-diploma certificate program in Fish and Wildlife Technology and you’ll have the skills you need to build a career as a technician in wildlife, fisheries and natural resource fields.

You’ll become adept at capturing, handling and radio-tracking fish, waterfowl and wildlife, and in habitat measurement, assessment and monitoring skills.

Imagine standing by a prairie lake with a live pintail in your hands, collecting data that could one day result in a healthier environment for all waterfowl and you begin to understand why you wanted into the field in the first place. You’ll study the practical application of physical and biological sciences and learn how to use state-of-the-art software and technology including Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications in wildlife habitat management, Global Positioning Systems (GPS) equipment in animal tracking, and the latest habitat modelling software.

You can pursue your own interests and take advantage of regular opportunities to join real-world projects run by the provincial and federal government, non-government organizations and private industry.
