It takes a dedicated, compassionate and open-minded person to provide the kind of support needed by people affected with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD).

Children, adults, families and the whole community can be affected by the developmental disabilities created by FASD. A specific type of training is required to provide the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in this area and improve the quality of life for those living with FASD.

We offer a one-year certificate available through Distance Learning to meet the growing demand for this specialized training. This program is designed for people already in the field and for those looking at a career in education, health care, disability services, criminal justice, or other Human Services areas of study that may bring you in contact with people impacted by a pre-natal exposure to alcohol.

This certificate program lets you focus on understanding how FASD impacts people’s lives. You’ll put your new-found knowledge to work through practicum experiences supporting individuals, families and communities to improve their quality of life.

If you already have a related diploma or degree, ask about our fast track option that can speed you along towards your FASD certificate.

After you take your FASD certificate you can enter into year two of our Disability and Community Rehabilitation diploma.
