Lethbridge
College won the 2010 Award of Recognition for Innovation in late January for
its Living Home project at SouthGrow's annual Creating Opportunities Awards.
The college shared the award with its partners, Cedar Ridge Quality Homes and
the City of Lethbridge. The project combined faculty expertise and student
enthusiasm to create a residential home designed to minimize the environmental
impact of construction, maintenance and operation of a single-family
residential home using proven sustainable, economic and accessible construction
practices and technologies. The college shared with the public its findings
from the project and subsequent research. Congratulations to the project's two
lead faculty, Braum Barber and Mark Bohnert, Engineering Technologies.
