Services for Students
Lethbridge College offers a wide selection of Credit, Non-credit, and Alternate Delivery courses. There are different ways to become a student at Lethbridge College. You can obtain admission to a program, register as an undeclared student (Part-time Credit Studies), or register as a Non-Credit student. The Registrar’s Office also provides a variety of services and can supply valuable information to students on all our courses. (Check out our menu options on the left). Registration Checklist
Congratulations on being accepted to Lethbridge College. Your next step in the process of becoming a student is called Registration. Registration is the process of actually enrolling in individual classes within your program.
- The Academic Calendar will list all of the courses in your program.
- Most students at Lethbridge College will be automatically registered for their required classes. Log in to the portal regularly to see if your schedule has been built.
- If there are electives in your program you will need to register for those on your own. An elective is a course that you select from a list of possible choices within your program of study.
- Students in the General Studies program who have not selected a major will need to register for all of their courses in each term.
- You can register for your courses in these ways.
- Online: log on to your student account through “My Portal Login” and select WebAdvisor: Using your student ID number and password you can log into the portal and build your own schedule by using the “search for sections and register for sections toolbar on the left side of the screen.
- In person: If you know what classes you wish to register for and that they will fit together in a timetable, fill out an Add/Drop form and submit it to a service specialist in Student Services.
- With an academic advisor: advisors can help you with choosing classes, working out a schedule, and lots more. Any student who wishes to register in an upgrading course must work with an advisor.
- Important definitions:
- Prerequisite: A class that must be completed prior to registration in the next level. Example: PSY 160 must be completed prior to PSY 260
- Co-requisite: A class that must be taken at the same time as another. Example: A Biology class may have a lab.
- Full-time: a student registered in at least 12 credits (does not apply to Alberta Works-funded students or those on a reduced course load)
- Add/drop, Extended Add/Drop, Withdrawal
- Important Dates: Please click the Academic Schedule link to the left. You are advised to check this regularly.
