Lethbridge College takes your safety and security seriously. We want you to feel safe on our campus and to know that we make protecting you and Lethbridge College’s facilities and equipment our priority.

Our contracted security officers take pride in ensuring Lethbridge College maintains its reputation as one of the safest places in Lethbridge. Their vehicle and foot patrols of the campus are part of our security strategy. As the front-line people, they are able to:

  • respond to emergency calls
  • help people with directions
  • assist wherever needed.

We believe you, too, play a part in ensuring our campus remains a safe environment for learning. If you have any concerns, we are always open and conveniently located in CE1303.

Parking

General Information

Parking information may be obtained through the Physical Facilities office in CE2301 or by calling 320-3223.

Signage is posted at the entrance of each lot. Reserved parking areas require valid permits to be displayed on the vehicle. All parking areas are patrolled by Lethbridge College Security Services and City of Lethbridge tickets are issued for violations of parking bylaws.

Please Note: All parking on campus is reserved or paid parking. Overflow parking is available at the Enmax Centre, about a five minute walk north of the campus. Parking is not allowed on any roadway or grassed area on campus. Parking is allowed only in designated parking stalls.


Public Parking

Metered parking is available around campus. Time limits vary from 37.5 minutes to two hours. Also available in Lots B or O. Rates for Lots B & O are $2 for 4 hours or $4 for all day.

While parking at the main entrace, please purchase permits form the machine near the flagpoles and place your temporary permit on your dash.

Hourly/Day Parking Lots: in effect Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Parking lots B or O are available for hourly or day parking. Rates are $2 for 4 hours or any portion of 4 hours and $4 for all day. Coin operated parking pass dispensers are located in each lot. These machines require $1 or $2 coins. Lot B is located adjacent to the Instructional Building. Lot O is located adjacent to the Physical Education Building.


Reserved Student Parking

Reserved parking is available in Lots C, D, F, J, N and ST.

Permits are sold through the Physical Facilites Office, CE2301. A student reserved permit allows the holder of the permit to park in any lot signed as a student reserved lot. Student reserved parking permits are not valid in hourly, daily, staff, residence or metered parking areas. Permits must be properly displayed at all times when parked in student reserved lots.

Permits are available as follows:

Student reserved parking is designated in the following lots:

C East end of campus, adjacent to the D.A. Electric Barn
D East end of campus, adjacent to the D.A. Electric Barn
F Immediately south of Lot D
J Southwest corner of the campus, adjacent to the Trades Wing
N Northwest corner of campus, adjacent to the Physical Education Wing
ST South end of the campus, adjacent to the Trades Wing
  • Student reserved lots are in effect from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday.
  • Permits allow the student to park in any of the above reserved lots.

Parking Violations

Parking violations will result in City of Lethbridge tickets being issued. Fines are $30.00 and up depending on the infraction. Improper parking could result in vehicles being booted or towed at the owner's expense.

Repeat violations may result in issuance of penalty notifications (payable to Lethbridge College), and parking priveledges may be withheld. Marks and/or transcipts may be withheld as a result of non-payment of Lethbridge College penalites. Ticket appeals must be made at City Hall.

Lockers

Lockers are located in the corridors and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Students must supply their own locks. Locks are available in the Lethbridge College Bookstore. Unless arrangements with Maintenance are made, Maintenance staff remove the locks from all lockers and clean out the lockers each May.

Lockers in the Physical Education Building are controlled by the Physical Education Department.

Lost & Found

Lost and found items are to be turned into and claimed from Security Services in CE1303. Items which are turned in are stored for 60 days. Items are disposed of in 60 days if not claimed.

Identification Cards

Staff and Student ID cards are issued at the Buchanan Library. For more information, visit the Library website.

Note to Staff: Photo identification cards can be encoded for access to rooms with electronic locks by the Physical Facilities Department, room CE2301. Cards are used for library, physical education building access and card access to certain labs.

Smoking Policy

Smoking is not allowed inside any Lethbridge College building, classroom, shop or common area. Smoking areas have been designated outside certain entrances to the campus. Smoking is only allowed outside those designated locations. Smoking violations may result in tickets being issued. The fine for violation of the City of Lethbridge smoking bylaw is $25.00.

Physical Facilities

Physical Facilities is located in CE2301. This department is responsible for the following areas: security, building and grounds maintenace, snow removal, heating & cooling, parking, ID cards, renovations, janitorial services and vehicle fleet.

Environmental Enhancements
Lethbridge College maintains a list of initiatives for the "Greening" of its campus. To date, the list details 71 items including a recycling program for everything from paper to fluorescent bulbs, mulching lawn cuttings, protecting the coulees on campus property and, implementing every available opportunity to save on energy.
